CAS Faculty Recruitment & Selection
Process & Procedures

Step 10: Preparing the Letter of Offer

Congratulations! The final step in the recruitment process is preparing the letter of offer and you are off the hook for this responsibility after you turn in the Hiring Report Form.

The Coordinator for Faculty Recruitment will prepare the letter of offer and track it through the line of signatures: Unit Chair/Director, Dean, Provost, Candidate. Candidate will be provided a business reply envelope for convenience in responding to the offer.

When the letter of offer is returned to the CAS Dean's office, the Coordinator will send photocopies to the Department Administrative Staff, the Provost's Office and the CAS Personnel Office.

The originals of the signed letter and the Faculty Certification of Employability Form are given to the CAS Budget area staff responsible for processing faculty appointments - they will be attached to the appointment paper received from the department.

NOTE: Letters of offer do not contain start-up commitments/costs. Applicable departments are responsible for that letter with a copy to Brent Smith, CAS Budget Director.
