The Department of Government and International Affairs includes graduate and undergraduate programs in International Studies, Political Science, and Public Administration. The diversity and wide range interests of the faculty of the Department of Government and International Affairs provides students with the opportunity to study and learn about the nature of politics and administration at the local, national and international levels. Towards that end, the Department offers students a choice of two undergraduate degrees in International Studies and Political Science. The Department also offers two graduate programs in Political Science (MA) and Public Administration (MPA), in addition to several graduate certificates.

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Department of Government and International Affairs, I welcome you to our website. The website is designed to provide you with the basic information about our Department as well as useful contact information.

The Department of Government and International Affairs is one of the largest departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. We offer two undergraduate degrees (BA) in Political Science and International Studies, as well as two graduate degrees in Political Science (MA) and Public Administration (MPA). The Department currently has over 1000 students with 26 full-time faculty members, as well as many credentialed adjunct instructors.

For information about our MA program in Political Science and our MPA program, please contact the Graduate Coordinator and the MPA Director, respectively.

Our Department has two Undergraduate Advisors who are prepared to offer their professional advice to interested students. Please contact them for questions concerning the Undergraduate programs.

The faculty in our Department is truly diverse, with an outstanding record of teaching and a prolific record of scholarly publications. Our faculty members have been awarded numerous teaching awards, and they have established national and international reputations in a variety of fields in Political Science, International Studies and Public Administration.

It is with great pleasure that I announce the addition of three new faculty members to our Department: Dr. Meena Chary, Dr. Eunjung Choi and Dr. Stephen Aikins. Their expertise will add to the rich diversity of our Department.

I am also delighted to inform you that our proposal for a PhD in Government is has been approved by USF and is expected to be submitted to the state of Florida for final approval
