Attending: Joe Wortham, Dean Martin, Jim Walsh, David Ford, Ron Federspiel, Chair-
Elect Bill Baker, Robert Benson, Melissa Derby absent and excused by Chairman Walsh.
REPORTS OF
OFFICERS
Melissa Derby, Hillsborough chair absent.
Robert Benson, Pinellas County Chair has completed arrangements for the
next meeting—move from February 1 to 2nd week in March.
We still are looking for a new chair for the Sarasota/Manatee sub-section
Committee Reports
--Education—none, Carvalho absent
--Legislative—Joe Wortham suggested he might meet with other sections to get
an idea of some of their activities. Joe suggested we might wish to use John McKay, state senator if we find the necessity needing a contact in state government.
--Dean Martin regarding newsletter -- Dr. Willard is ready to accept copy for our
section newsletter
---Website , recently updated information entered. Federspiel plans to re-build
the site with pages for student affiliates, each sub-section , officers page, seminar and meeting schedule. Web address is www.cas.usf.edu/chemistry/acs. Click on chemistry and under ACS. Also one can access through the National ACS web site.
New Business: next meeting—February 8, 4:00 at St. Petersburg campus of USF
