Ross Andel, Ph.D. Assistant Professor - School of Aging Studies Email: randel@cas.usf.edu Description of Research Interests Dr. Andel’s primary research interest has been in the investigation of modifiable risk factors for cognitive impairment that may be used to delay the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. Factors examined by Dr. Andel have included intellectual, social, and physical activities in and outside of work, education, personality, and diet. Dr. Andel has worked with the Swedish Twin Registry and other datasets. Dr. Andel has also published on the effects of exercise on functional fitness in old age, risk factors for nursing home placement and other topics related to health and aging.
