Requirements for the Major in Classics 2001/2002
     
Classics Major 30 credit hours 10 courses
4 courses in Greek or Latin (intermediate level requirement)
6 courses in civilization classes
Language Classes:
Fall
Spring
LAT or GRE 1120 LAT or GRE 1121
LAT or GRE 2200 (intermediate) LAT or GRE 2201 (prereq. for advanced work)
     
Civilization/Culture Courses:
Greek Civilization Roman Civilization
Greek Literature in Translation Roman Literature in Translation
Mythology Mythology
Medical Terminology Word Power/Women in the Ancient World
     
Civilization hours may also be fulfilled by History (Ancient History I and II, Greek History,
Roman History), Religion (Women in the Bible, The Bible as Literature), Philosophy
(Ancient to Medieval), and Art (Ancient Art, Ancient to Medieval) with permission of advisor
