department of communication — communication day

Communication Day
Communication Day is an annual day of celebration by the faculty, staff, and students that dates back approximately 30 years. Although the individual events vary each year, it includes scholarly presentations or performances by undergraduate or graduate students, inducting the new Lambda Pi Eta members, and since 1989, the Grazier Lecture. The day culminates in an awards’ dinner.

Grazier Lecture
The annual Grazier Lecture is made possible by a generous endowment by Catherine Grazier Coit, who was a major in the Communication department. Ms. Coit made this gift in honor of her father, Allen C. Grazier, who was a great champion of publication education in Florida, serving under two governors. The Grazier Lecturer is selected each year by the faculty of the Department of Communication to honor a distinguished scholar in the field of communication.
