General Description
This course is a required coure in the GIS Certificate Program and should normally be the first course you take in the program. It is intended to bring all students up to a similar level in terms of the knowledge of GIS fundamentals, spatial analysis skills and software proficiency. The course provides the necessary skill level to take any of the electives.

Prerequisites
Acceptance into the GIS Certificate Program, which implies having taken a recent introductory course in GIS or relevant work experience. Graduate students not enrolled in the GIS Certificate Program need permission from the instructor to enroll in this course.
