USF astrophysicist to speak on origins of the universe[10.20.2011]
TAMPA, Fla. -- Doug Gobeille, a University of South Florida astrophysicist, will speak at a meeting of the USF Society of Physics Students at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27 in ISA 1061.
Gobeille will lecture on the origins of time and place, the creation of the atom and thus the creation of the universe and more.
This lecture is a part of the Astrophysics and Cosmology Lectures at USF, hosted by the Society of Physics Students.
Each month a different physics professor gives a lecture on a different topic in astrophysics, astronomy and cosmology. Other topics this semester have included the Drake Equation and the search for life in the universe.
The lectures are all free and open to the public.
