USF to host CESU meeting
[10.25.2011]

TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of South Florida will be hosting the 2011 Southeast Regional Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Meeting. The conference will take place on the St. Petersburg Campus and at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute from Oct. 25-27.

The meetings will include four members of the CESU national network from the Southern Appalachian, Gulf Coast, South Florida-Caribbean and Piedmont-South Atlantic. They will represent 11 federal agencies, 52 universities and 13 non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

CESU is a national group of federal agencies, academic institutions, tribal, state and local governments, NGOs, and other partners that work together to support informed public trust resource stewardship.

The group works to address natural and cultural heritage resource issues at multiple scales and in an ecosystem context by bringing together a number of experts like scientists, conservation professionals and students.
