Fall 2011 Dean's Office Interns
Dean’s Office seeking interns for spring semester[11.08.2011]
TAMPA, Fla. -- The College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office is looking for hardworking students to participate in its internship program during the spring 2012 semester. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21 in CPR 107.
Interns will work with the communications and marketing director in areas such as public relations and marketing, news writing, broadcast and video production, photography and social media.
Interns will have opportunities to gain hands-on experience, produce items for their portfolio and build their résumé.
“I have something to show for after being a part of this internship, in comparison to other production internships where I would just be getting people coffee or watching others do work,” said Torie Doll, a junior majoring in mass communications and a current Dean’s Office intern. Doll has been interning for the office for two semesters and is continuing into the spring.
Interns also are able to network with College of Arts and Sciences administration and faculty, work in a collaborative environment with other students and meet industry professionals at exclusive luncheons.
“I have had the pleasure of writing press releases about USF’s faculty, meeting administrators at events and learning about my future career field from professionals who have shared their experiences,” said Lauren Laffer, a senior majoring in public relations and a current intern.
Interns must commit at least 10 hours a week to this internship. Course credit is available, and students from any major are encouraged to apply.
