CAS Dean's Office to host internship information session

TAMPA, Fla. -- Do you love being behind a camera? Would you consider yourself a social media whiz? Do you love to write? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should check out the information session for the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office Internship Program at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 in Cooper Hall (CPR) 355.

Students have the opportunity to intern in one of five different areas including: public relations and marketing, news and feature writing, broadcast/video production, photography and social media.

This internship is a great way to get your foot in the door for real job opportunities and a chance to take away knowledge that will help you with your future endeavors.

Ella Farnsworth, a mass communications/advertising student, has been a public relations/marketing intern for two semesters said, “it’s by far the best experience I’ve had at USF.”

“I love the people I work with and work for; the atmosphere is great,” she said. “I learn something new every day and am so grateful for it. All of the tools I’ve gotten thus far have helped me tremendously in my schoolwork.”

Michele Dye, the communications and marketing director for CAS, is constantly teaching the interns new skills that will help them succeed in the future. There are guest speakers, workshops and seminars to keep the interns on their toes and always soaking up important information.

If you are interested in interning in the Spring 2013 semester this information session is a great way to meet current interns who are more than willing to answer questions and share their experience, gain a deeper insight about this internship program, and enjoy free pizza.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 30 to CPR 107.
