USF Botanical Gardens to showcase aesthetic side of sustainability with “upcycled” art
[10.08.2013]

TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of South Florida Botanical Gardens in conjunction with the Science Collaboration for Global Solutions Partnership will soon showcase some unique pieces of artwork made with “upcycled” materials. Upcycled materials—unlike recycled materials—are not broken down and remade into new products, but are repurposed for new and further uses.

Several pieces of upcycled art will be installed for exhibition at the USF Botanical Gardens located on the southwest edge of the USF campus on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 11:30 a.m.

Dean Kala Vairavamoorthy of the Patel College of Global Sustainability and Pansy Houghton, Ph.D. will dedicate the art created by students of Patel College partner school Young Middle Magnet Creative Science Centre.
