USF Botanical Gardens Plant Shop to host "An African Violet and Gesneriad Celebration"

TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of South Florida Botanical Gardens Plant Shop will host a special one-day Gesneriad Celebration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the USF Botanical Gardens.

Gesneriads are the family of plants that include African Violets and many more colorful little plants. Members of the Tampa Bay Gesneriad Society will be on hand to answer questions. The Gesneriad Society will have a display set up with spectacular specimens. The Plant Shop will be featuring many different types of Episcias, Achimenes, Gloxinias, African Violets and many more for sale.

The USF Botanical Gardens are located at 12210 USF Pine Dr., Tampa.
