CAS professor wins 2014 Fred Riggs Award[2.21.2014]
TAMPA, Fla. -- A professor in the School of Public Affairs at the University of South Florida received the 2014 SICA Fred Riggs Award for Lifetime Achievement in International and Comparative Public Administration.
Jamil Jreisat, Ph.D. is a longtime member of SICA, the Section on International and Comparative Administration of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). He is a researcher and scholar, as well as professor in the College of Arts and Sciences who teaches public administration and political science.
The Fred Riggs Award will be presented to Jreisat at the SICA annual business meeting during the ASPA National Conference at 8:30 a.m. on March 16 in Washington, D.C.
“Hard work and scholarships are ultimately appreciated and rewarded where it matters,” Jreisat said.
The Fred Riggs Award was established by SICA in 1985 to honor the professional careers of individuals who have contributed to the development of international and comparative administration. Jreisat has published 13 books, 30 refereed articles and more than 30 book chapters on comparative public administration in developing nations.
He upholds the tradition of Fred Riggs by performing research and writing publications in cross-national comparison of public administration. The Fred Riggs Award recognizes everything Jreisat has done and will continue to do in this field of study.
