Dean's Office seeking spring interns
The College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office Internship Program is looking for interns for the upcoming spring semester. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 to CPR 107. Interviews will take place on campus during Dec. 3-12.
Students have the opportunity to intern in one of eight different areas including: public relations and marketing, reporting, broadcast and video production, photography, social media, graphic design, event planning and website design/programming.
This internship is a great way for students to build their résumé and portfolio, and gain valuable skills outside of the classroom.
Michele Dye, the communications and marketing director for CAS, is constantly teaching the interns new skills that will help them succeed in the future. There are guest speakers, workshops and field trips to further interns’ professional development.
"This program is designed for the motivated student who enjoys working in a collaborative, creative setting," Dye said. "It's a fast-paced environment, and you have to be able to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Even though it's a lot of work, we all have a lot of fun, and my former interns have said how much this experience helped them in their current job. I'm proud of the program we've created and remain committed to providing an exceptional internship experience for USF students."
Dye’s interns have landed jobs at advertising agencies and public relation firms in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta and Miami.
