GRASP announces new coordinator
TAMPA, Fla. -- I want to introduce myself as the new coordinator of GRASP (Graduate Research and Student Publications [a works in progress group]). Stephanie Phillips passed the torch over to me, and I want to publicly thank her for keeping this group up and running over the last few semesters!
I think this group is an important part of our department, and I would like to see it flourish. For those who are currently involved in this group, I thank you for your interest and look forward to our upcoming meetings.
For those who would like to become a part of this group, please email me at email@example.com. I think GRASP is an excellent platform for graduate students to grow as scholars. Group members will have the rare opportunity to receive feedback from their peers, so they feel confident and ready to present and/or publish their best work.
We will review one paper – two small papers at most – per month and meet once a month on Fridays to share our thoughts and feedback on the papers we receive. We are open to looking at all kinds of papers, whether they are sections of a dissertation, working articles or conference papers. If you would like to reserve a spot for upcoming months, please email me and let me know.
I want to thank those that came to the first GRASP meeting. We had a very productive 45 minutes, and the feedback was fantastic. I want to let everyone know that our February spot is open, so please email me with your paper if you would like it reviewed. Our next meeting is Friday, Feb. 27 at 3:30 p.m. in CPR 257.
The schedule for GRASP is as follows:
February 27: 3:30 p.m. CPR 257
March 20: 3:30 p.m. CPR 257
April 17: 3:30 p.m. CPR 257
