USF features vivid artwork of American-Muslim artist Ameena Khan
[06.05.2015]

TAMPA, Fla. -- The University of South Florida Department of Women and Gender Studies and Art2Action are now hosting Dialogue in Color, an exhibition of artwork by contemporary American-Muslim artist Ameena Khan.

Given form through diverse media such as acrylic and watercolor paint, tiles, beads and newspaper clippings, Khan’s artwork aims to challenge the viewer’s most deeply held convictions. Her bold colors and detailed patterns invite conversation on issues ranging from the so-called “War on Terror” to the experiences of the modern American-Muslim woman.

The collection is on display in CMC 202F through July 31, 2015, and is free and open to the public.

For hours and information, contact Jennifer Ellerman-Queen at (813) 974-5520 or jellerma@usf.edu, or email the artist directly at art@ameena-khan.com.
