UMass Scholar to discuss Holocaust

TAMPA, Fla. -- Cultural studies scholar Olga Gershenson, Ph.D., will be speaking about how the Holocaust was represented in the Soviet Union, at noon, on Nov. 5, in the Grace Allen Room.

Gershenson, a professor of Judaic and Near-Eastern Studies at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, will present her thought-provoking lecture, "Missing Pieces: Soviet Holocaust Films."

Gershenson's lecture will explain the significance of the Russian films that caught glimpses of the Holocaust. The event will be hosted by the Humanities Institute, the Hebrew Program, the Department of World Languages and the USF Libraries.

There will be a reception held at 11:30 a.m. The event is open to the public.
