Support the Frontiers of Knowledge[09.25.2012]
Every great research university enriches the social, economic and cultural lives of its communities. The University of South Florida is fortunate to serve not only our talented student body but also the citizens of Tampa Bay, the state of Florida, the nation and the world through cutting-edge instruction and world-class research and scholarship.
With this broad mission in mind, the College of Arts and Sciences at USF created an initiative, the "Frontiers of Knowledge." This initiative is a special collection of events that showcase local, national and international experts on a broad range of topics that are currently on the public agenda. The Frontier Forum, presented by the USF Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Faculty, has featured exciting speakers such as Neil deGrasse Tyson, Stephen Dubner, Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee and Michio Kaku.
Our faculty and students are committed to studying real world problems that matter to communities; we never hesitate to roll up our sleeves and work side by side with our community partners throughout the world. The "Trail Blazers" lecture series will allow guests to share a lunch or dinner with a scholar. These events, which have been a college tradition for more than 30 years, showcase some of USF's best faculty who are setting the agenda and direction for research in their fields of expertise.
