USF Botanical Gardens holds annual Tropical Plant Fair
TAMPA, Fla. -- The USF Botanical Gardens is having its 15th Annual Tropical Plant Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 13 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 14. Admission is $5. Garden members and children under 12-years-old are admitted free. Parking is free.
Vendors will be selling rare and popular fruit trees. There will be vendors offering hundreds of blooming tropical and exotic plants, such as gingers, orchids, Plumeria, and more, all in a festive atmosphere.
At 11 a.m. on July 13 there will be a talk on “Creating Your Own Tropical Paradise.” These exotic plants enhance any landscape. At noon on Sunday, July 14, there will be a workshop: “Finding the Right Groundcover.”
July 14 offers a Pepper Beauty Contest, the tasteful beauty contest. Any one who brings a decorated pepper to enter into the Pepper Beauty Contest gets in free on Sunday. There will be prizes and glory for participants.
The USF Botanical Garden is located near the southwest corner of the USF Tampa campus, at the intersection of Pine and Alumni drives off Bruce B Downs Boulevard. Pine is one block north of Fowler Ave. off of Bruce B. Downs.
