CAS professors named Researchers of the Year
TAMPA, Fla. - Associate Professors Jennifer Bosson and Joseph Vandello of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida were named the Researches of the Year by the Society for the Psychological Study of Men and Masculinity.
The society is Division 51 of the American Psychological Association and offers a number of awards every year for teachers, students and researchers educating in the area of men and masculinity.
“This award represents our overall research; it isn’t really based on one publication,” Bosson said. “We’ve been collaborating since 2006, so it’s recognition of an eight year-theory.”
Both professors agreed the award will be a catalyst for more research and publications. The two also said their work would not have been possible without their graduate students.
“We feel like we need to step our game up in a sense,” said Vandello. “There’s definitely going to be more activity and hopefully more opportunities to be published.”
