Botany professor writes book on plant life
TAMPA, Fla. -- USF Emeritus Associate Professor Fredrick Essig wrote and published a book on plant life titled “Plant Life, A Brief History.”
The book, published by Oxford University Press, is available in the U.S. and will be available in the U.K. in April 2015.
The 280-page book is written in chronological narrative of plant origin, development and diversification. Within the nine chapters topics such as the origins of photosynthesis to eukaryotic plant life, life developing on land and the development of vascular plants and are discussed. The book contains an abundance of illustrations, with accurate, clear and life-like botanical line drawings.
