USF Botanical Gardens to host Summer Plant Festival [06.18.2015]
TAMPA, Fla. -- The USF Botanical Gardens is having its annual Summer Plant Festival on June 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m and June 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5. Garden members and children under 12 years old will be admitted for free.
Vendors will be selling rare and popular fruit trees. There also will be hundreds of blooming tropical and exotic plants, such as orchids, gingers, plumeria and bromeliads along with native plants and herbs for sale. Check our website for list of speakers who will teach about gowing these popular plants.
June 28 will feature a Pepper Beauty Contest. Those that bring a decorated pepper to enter into the Pepper Beauty Contest will be admitted for free on Sunday. There will be prizes available for participants.
The USF Botanical Garden is located at 12210 USF Pine Dr., Tampa, FL 33620, near the southwest corner of the USF Tampa campus, at the intersection of Pine Drive and Alumni Drive. Parking is free.
