Excellent research potential required. Ph.D. in Philosophy by date of appointment. AOS: Open but related to study of sustainability as building social, cultural and environmental capital in a global context. Potential themes include (but are not limited to) population movements; communication, technology, and information issues; cultural diasporas; health, economic, educational, and environmental disparities; ethnicity, gender, aging; cultural heritage and identity; sustainable development; ethics; or security issues. Specific research and geographical areas are open, and applicants may be considering both past and contemporary questions. AOC: Open.  Salary 40,000 (and University contribution of up to 5,000 for scholar’s and dependents’ health care.) Anticipated date of employment is 7 August 2010. Teaching load is 1/1. Other expectations of Fellows include (1) engaging in independent research; (2) participating in interdisciplinary and programmatic seminars; and (3) seeking external funding.  Application reviews will begin on November 15th.  Final application submission deadline is November 30th.
