joined the Philosophy Department faculty at USF in 2008
after several years as professor of philosophy at North
Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. His
research is in the history of early modern philosophy
(17th and
18th centuries),
with a special focus on the philosophy of mathematics
in that period. He is interested in issues concerning
the evolution of concepts of rigorous demonstration,
debates over the nature of the infinite, and accounts
of the ontology and epistemology of mathematics, and
is interested in early modern philosophy of religion.
