Ph.D. Duke University, 2001. Dr. Sadler
joined the Philosophy Department at USF in 2002. Her research
focuses on meta-ethics, normative ethics, and the history of
moral philosophy. Recent projects include an exploration of the
prospects for a Kantian approach to problems of shared intentions
and shared responsibility; a conceptual analysis of personal
commitment and its relationship to moral obligation; an inquiry
into the ethics of same-sex marriage and the value of marriage;
and an argument concerning the epistemic status of internal and
external reasons. She also has interests in feminist theory,
philosophy and literature, and the philosophy of love and sex,
especially problems concerning identity, narrative, and sexuality.
Dr. Sadler has published in Philosophy, Midwest
Studies in Philosophy, The Southern Journal of Philosophy, Teaching
Philosophy, and other journals. In 2004, she won the USF Outstanding Undergraduate
Teaching Award.
