Weiskopf
Assistant Professor
Ph.D. in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology,
Washington University in St. Louis, 2003. Joined the
USF philosophy department in 2003. His research interests
lie in the philosophy of mind and language, particularly
where they intersect with psychology, neuroscience, and
linguistics. Most of his recent work has been focused
on concepts and mental content, but he is also interested
in the explanatory role of cognitive models and contextualism
in natural language semantics. He also has interests
in more general topics in the philosophy of science,
particularly concerning constraints on multiple realizability,
mechanistic explanation in psychology and neuroscience,
and the psychology and metaphysics of kinds. His articles
have appeared in Mind and Language, The
British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, Synthese, The
Journal of Consciousness Studies , and Philosophical
Psychology .
