Gilbert Ryle (my thesis supervisor), P.F. Strawson (my college tutor), and
Stuart Hampshire (my special tutor).
Took the graduate degree of B. Phil. in June 1960 with three written
examinations in (I) Metaphysics and Epistemology (ii) Kant (chosen authority), and (iii) Political Philosophy (this last comprising Philosophy of
Politics, Philosophy of History, and Philosophy of Law), and with a thesis on Knowledge, Truth, and Reason.
