Teaching assistantships

·          Ph.D. students: $18,000/year + tuition waiver (worth $3,600)

·          M.S. students: $16,000/year + tuition waiver ($3,600)

(Students from countries where the native language is not English are required to obtain a score of 50 or higher in the standardized Test of Spoken English. Note that this is not the same thing as the TOEFL.)

Research assistantships

·          Consult individual research group directors for research opportunities and assistantships available.

·          Research assistantship also includes tuition waiver.

Fellowship supplements

·          Tharp Fellowship: $4,000/year (4-5 awards per year)

·          Duckwall Fellowship: $4,000/year (3-4 awards per year for research in optics)

• Presidential Doctoral Fellowships: Highly qualified applicants will be considered for Presidential Doctoral Fellowships which provide a stipend of $20,000 per year in addition to full tuition and health insurance and are renewable for five years.
