The College of Arts and Sciences welcomes you to the University of South Florida! As a new student to the University and to the College, it is important that you review each of the following the steps below.

If you are admitted to the University of South Florida - Tampa Campus:

  1. You must register for an on-campus Orientation on the Orientation website (Opens in New Window). If you have chosen one of the Regional Campuses as your home campus, please select the appropriate link Polytechnic, St. Petersburg, or Sarasota / Manatee, as Orientation is different on each Campus.
  2. Please make an appointment with your departmental academic advisor (Opens in New Window) in the College of Arts and Sciences. Advising in the major can be completed by phone, email, or in person.
  3. Orientation is mandatory for newly admitted USF students. Some of the College of Arts and Sciences' advisors may NOT be available on Orientation day; therefore, to ensure your advising and course selection are completed, contact your advisor prior to orientation by phone, email, or in person. Contacting your advisor prior to orientation will allow orientation to move in a more timely manner. ALL students in the College of Arts and Sciences MUST attend Orientation and the College's overview regardless if you have met with an advisor prior to orientation. Students who have previously met with their advisor are free to leave after the College's overview.
