When do I find out the recommendations
made by the various reviewers of my application?
Department
recommendations: Before your application leaves your department.
(Note: This varies by department. Some CAS departments do
not notify their applicants of the department review results.)
College recommendations: Before your application is forwarded
to the Provost's office, you will be asked to come review
your application, which will now contain the College Committee
and the Dean's recommendations. At that time, you can make
photocopies of those documents, or other materials from the
file as you wish. You will be asked to sign a statement that
you have been given the opportunity to review the application.

Can
you give some general guidelines about completing the Tenure
and Promotion packet?
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
What
about Supplementary Materials?
Supplementary
materials are not required. If you feel they are necessary to
your application please package them appropriately so they are
secure and accessible to reviewers. Label them clearly with
your name and department.
Supplemental materials are not sent to the Provost's office.
They remain in the CAS Dean's Office until the process is finished
in the spring term, at which time applicants are asked to pick
them up from the Dean's office.

I received credit toward tenure
upon my hire. Can I return it so that I will have more time
in rank at USF?
Yes. All or a portion of the credit may be withdrawn once
prior to formal application for tenure.

Can tenured DROP participants vote in
matters of tenure and promotion?
Participation
in DROP does not affect a faculty member's standing related
to voting in tenure and promotion cases. They are still active,
tenured faculty.
Can
faculty on Phased Retirement vote in matters of tenure and promotion?
Tenure
- no. Phased retirees relinquish tenure when they go into the
program.
Promotion
- depends upon the governance document of the department and
how it treats Phased retirement faculty in matters of departmental
governance.
