Linda E. Lucas, Ph.D. is an economist and a Visiting Professor in Women’s Studies at the University of South Florida. She has teaching and research interests in women and work; the gendered consequences of globalization, women and science and women and wealth. She has taught at Eckerd College where she is Professor Emerita; at the University of Notre Dame where she was Director of the Latin American Studies Program; at Makerere University (Uganda) where she was a Fulbright Professor of Economics twice; at Instituto Technologico Autonomo de Mexico (Mexico City) where she was a Fulbright Professor of Economics and at Thammasat University (Bangkok). She has been a Visiting Scientist at the National Marine Fisheries Service (Honolulu); a Research fellow at the East-West Center (Honolulu); a Visiting Researcher at the Economic Policy Research Centre (Kampala); a Visiting Researcher at the Thailand Development Research Institute. She has published many articles and book chapters in the fields of women and work and marine resource policy. Her edited volume, Unpacking Globalization: Markets, Gender and Work is forthcoming from Lexington Press.
